The wonders of twitter

Twitter

I had one of those weird moments this morning when technology suddenly shrinks the world for you and gives you an insight into new ways of connecting with people (customers).

Along with every internet marketer following Ed Dale I had my twitter client (Twirl) open on my desk early this morning and every now and then it would chime in with little messages from good old Ed who was en route to Los Angeles. As they have not enabled sms or internet access yet from flights from Australia to LA, Ed obviously filled a pipeline of little messages to be sent as he flew across the pacific using Twit Response, kind of an autoresponder for twitter.

At 6am this morning, I got up to dial in and listed to a Q&A session being run by Jeff Walker as I am participating in his Product Launch Formula 2.0. Toward the end of the session there is a sudden commotion in the background as someone is banging on his window…lo and behold it is Ed Dale…meanwhile his tweets about arriving at the airport, getting through customs have just been chiming on my desktop.

The whole experience made me feel like a voyeur into his world of internet marketing gurus who congregate in LA and San diego and drive around to beach parties in Frank Kerns VW Combi…you get where I am going with this.

We always talk about how blogs provide a mechanism for a two way conversation with customers…well I think they have been completely superseded by Twitter.

Imagine the applications for your business or niche…
